He started to learn stories at the age of three when his Grandfather took him on his knee and told him stories which he had to retell till he was sure George told them as he told them to him. When George reached the age of 10 he was allowed to tell a story in public for the first time. He has been collecting and telling stories ever since, Scottish and from other cultures, e.g. Australian aboriginal, Ainu people of Japan. George Macpherson is a Seannachdaigh (chief storyteller) for three clans.
